Resources for Communities


Local government units, community groups and civil society organizations working in flood-stricken areas are encouraged to come up with project proposals for consideration of donor agencies and organizations based on community needs.

These proposals should revolve around the following:

Sustainable Livelihood
 Support or scale up livelihood productivity projects for households
 Opportunities for jobs and service contracts (e.g. maintenance, utilities, construction and other services)
 Support entrepreneurial projects
 Support training and development for livelihood activities
 Small business advising
 Agricultural technology development
 Others (specify)______________________________

Ecological Systems Development
 Support reforestation and agro-forestry systems development in the upland areas o
 Promote ecologically-friendly business and government projects and practices
 Others (specify) _____________________________________

Civic Engagement
 Strengthening and mobilization of the Municipal Disaster Coordinating Council (MDCC) for the planning and implementation of the rehabilitation projects
 Information and technology support to assist MDCC
 Trainings on existing beneficiaries and partners groups to become civic-minded organizations
 Provision of basic services (water, housing, healthcare and service infrastructures)
